Carol has put up a post on Facebook to say that her lovely husband, Chris, died yesterday. He had been ill for quite a long time and had spent Christmas in Hospital.

I had a phone call from Dave Nuttall of Wakefield yesterday to tell me of this news

I knew Chris had been ill for some time and loved to go fishing whilst Carol followed the singing, often putting the two activities together using their campervan

Illness often comes to haunt us in later life

Ultimately not unexpected, but I know from personal experience that doesn't help a lot. I remember him affectionately from the old days in Hartlepool, and many more in between - a deep and quiet soul.

Thanks everyone for the hugs and thoughts. Sadly Chris died from the effects of a trial drug and the last 6 weeks have been pretty awful. Yes I miss him, he was my best friend and we loved each other, but we did have 25 years together, I just wish it could have been longer.

Just to say thank you for all your kind words and thoughts.
We will be Celebrating Chris's Life at 1p.m. on Friday 7th January, at Pontefract Crematorium and then at the Kings Croft Hotel. I would love to see anyone who would like to come but please let me know as I need to know numbers for the catering.
We might even end up doing some singing.
