Hi. Would it be possible to obtain the guitar chords to FRIENDS OF MINE? I would love to be able to play it. I have Harvey's CD but my musical ear is not that good as to be able to pick out the chords.

FRIENDS OF MINE appeared on Harvey Andrews' album "Friends of Mine" (1973).

YouTube has a video of FRIENDS OF MINE being performed by a band called Beggars Mantle: Click here. The recording seems contemporary to the album.

If nobody else posts the lyrics, I will try to transcribe them in a day or two.

The lyrics are printed in the booklet of the "Friends of Mine" CD. Why don't you just buy it from Harvey Andrews' website?

OK folks, here is one for you. How about the chord sequence for 'Writer Of Songs'. Sounds simple enough but I can't work it out, (mind you, that isn't saying much)! I know from reading some of Harvey's comments over the years that this composition even surprised him at the time.

D then move up one fret to Dm shape on first three strings, playing only top four strings,then move up two frets (4 strings) then back two frets,(4 strings) then to D/A/A7/D

If you can't read chords of a neck yet, play the favorite ones (G,D,A,Bm etc) and you'll see.
