Melissa like I said in my original thread I have the youtube recording but my worn out ears won't let me decipher the correct words.Are you able to transcribe and post the words? It's to beautiful a song to screw it up

Yeah, I thought maybe if I put a link, somebody might listen and remember that they have the words on their computer.

I do think I can hear almost all of the words and was headed back toward the computer to check and see if someone had posted them for you.
I'll give it a hard listen right now and see what I can come up with.

yup, with another listen, I do think my transcription is accurate. I'm pretty sure he says 'be blue'

Maybe somebody else with a good ear for country lyrics will come along and check it..

I worked with the guy that wrote this song. Ted chalfant. I have an autographed copy of cd! I even have the demo tape that was sung by Alan Jackson, before he was famous.

Indeed, the US Copyright Office confirms that Ted Chalfant wrote a song called SOMEONE TO LOVE YOU a.k.a I WANT SOMEONE TO LOVE YOU, registered in 1991.

i really really want to thank you for the lyrics to this very special song i've been looking for it for a while this song reminds me so much of what my dad did exept that he didn't write it he told my mom and everytime i would hear it it would remind me of him i unfortunetly lost this song but still like it so much again THANK YOU
