Thanks for refreshing it, Maeve. I missed it until today. It gives voice to a lot of what I've been feeling.

There was me thinking last night (it happens), and frustrated with a lot of things going on. I figured it might be an excuse for a song, and I wrote down "All they want to do is dream." Most of what we see on TV in the states is news-based, or crime shows, and our "SyFy" (supposed to be "SciFi" but can be pronounced "syphi") shows horror movies and pro wrestling. We're missing creativity, and whimsy, and dreams. We're missing the "what we can do about it" part of "what's wrong." So, I don't think dreaming is the ONLY thing people want, it's one thing that's hard to do these days, and it's one thing many of us wish we could do. Dream, hope.

The eye of a storm IS just a blip on a weather map, but the storm isn't just a blip.

Thanks for making your new song available for listening, George. In reading the lyrics alone, I expected to find it depressing...and the situations described therein certainly are. Your singing and playing of "Eye of the Storm", heard with your challenge in mind, present a strong song with thoughtful reasoning.

In the closing hours of 2010, perhaps as a result of watching too many retrospectives on TV, I came up with (yet) another rant which I titled "Eye of the storm" on the basis that I can sense serious upheaval on the way as a result of the mess that we baby-boomers have made of things. The song focuses on attitudes and behaviours rather than climate etc, and so it should contain its own answers (just reverse the sentiments/actions of each line for the way forward). When it's fun to be senseless on Saturday
And go sick just when Monday arrives

When historical drama is favourite

Of course, I don't expect everyone to sympathise with the sentiments therein - I hold a very individual line in the matter of faith, for example - but perhaps you'll find enough to agree with. And anyway, I am only "voicing opinions"!
