Subject: RE: Archie Fisher in Lewes Thurs 13th From: Vic Smith Date: 08 Jan 11 - 03:33 PM The Archie Fisher gig gets a mention on Page 12 of the listings in The Guardian Guide where it says Lewes * ARCHIE FISHER Celtic folk singer/songwriter Royal Oak Station Street Lewes (01273 478124) 8pm, £6.00 Then on the "Pick of the Week" on the first page of the Listings it gives five gigs out of the hundreds that are listed including this one and says of it - ARCHIE FISHER Royal Oak, Lewes, Thursday. Lynchpin of the 1960s British folk revival plays a low-key show. Fine soft-voiced singer/songwriter as covered by Fairport Convention. Hmm, not sure that I agree entirely with their blurb, but I am very pleased by with their choosing it..... sounds like the place to be on Thursday! |
