Subject: BS: Spinnolio john f weldon film From: john f weldon Date: 11 Jan 11 - 11:40 AM The NFB has added another film of mine to its website. A really early one. 1977, good grief. Spinnolio |

Subject: RE: BS: Spinnolio john f weldon film From: Bill D Date: 12 Jan 11 - 02:08 PM I have certain adblocking software enabled in my Opera browser, and all I get is a still image. I tried DISabling the software, but with no success. I do not understand why sites...especially major, government run sites, cannot either just provide a simple 'click on a video and see it' link, OR explain carefully what the restrictions are and what is required to see it...*along with information about the format the video is in* I have watched John's great films before...at this site, I think. I will try other browsers...later. |
Subject: RE: BS: Spinnolio john f weldon film From: Bill D Date: 12 Jan 11 - 03:20 PM I managed to view it in Firefox...but ONLY after Firefox 'plugin-container' demanded to contact several IPs which cannot be identified as to origin. It totally made the page disappear from my tabs until I allowed those contacts, then, I suppose, enabled 'something' that let the film/vid play. I have not determined who is protecting me from what, and why the Canadian NFB feels they need such complex access restrictions. So far, NO version of Opera will play the vid, and older ones (before Opera 10) will not even show still images...even with adblockers turned off and cookies enabled. Oh...I liked the video. |
Subject: RE: BS: Spinnolio john f weldon film From: john f weldon Date: 13 Jan 11 - 02:35 PM I've never had a problem myself. They just play. I usually embed them on my website too. I use Safari on a Mac. |

Subject: RE: BS: Spinnolio john f weldon film From: bobad Date: 18 Jan 11 - 10:57 AM For all you John Weldon fans there is another "new" (to me anyway) addition to John's collection on the NFB site. This one is called "Emergency Numbers" and is from 1984. Delightful as always. |
Subject: RE: BS: Spinnolio john f weldon film From: john f weldon Date: 18 Jan 11 - 11:26 AM Ha! I had no idea that Emergency Numbers was on there. It was made BEFORE they came up with 911 for everything. Mainly it was an excuse to do a classic dog & cat chase. Every animator has to do one, just as every folksinger has to write a song about a train! It's in the Secret Manual. |
