Last year, we had a very nice session at Faldingworth Memorial Hall

I am looking to do a similar event on either Saturday 26th or Sunday 27th June 2011 in the afternoon.

There will be a bar and food will be available. I can even do a BBQ if the weather is good and I know roughly how many people would like that.

Entrance is free.

So, is there anybody interested and if so which date would be best for you and what would be a good time to start?

Indeed, a very nice do each time. Count me in. No grub, though, I have to keep my amazing body in perfect condition on a diet of macrobiotic fish 'n chips and caffeine free diet Coke. But I'll probably be there.

The thing is I need your advice on the better day to run it. Is Saturday or Sunday best?

Just would mebntion thought that there is a newish session been set up on the second and last Sunday afternoons (from 3pm) at the Marquis of Granby in Waddingham - opposite Bill's house for those that know him. ne's in the chair, but like the old Barrow sessions - all welcome and no bollox!

It might be best to put it to the Saturday. Would Saturday be any good? Sunday seems difficult especially as Dog and Bone are first Sunday of month and with above info.
Can't do it the week before as we have The New Rope String Band on.

Based on the above, I have decided not to run a session at Faldingworth in June, after all.

There are now 3 sundays where sessions occur, pretty local to Faldingworth. The 2 Sundays mentioned above and the one at the Dog and Bone in Lincoln.

I enjoyed the session at Faldingworth as it felt friendly and all inclusive. If you don't know lots of tunes and haven't got time to go to sessions regularly, they can be a little intimidating, purely because the 'regular' crowd know a lot of the same tunes. No disrespect intended to those type of sessions but I think Faldingworth was offering a different type of session that was enjoyable to those who weren't regular session-go-ers. Thanks for trying to organise it, anyway, FaldingworthDave and all the best with your other events. I do try to support as many local live music events as possible as I know people work very hard to organise them...but the week just is not long enough and the diesel tank in my car just empties too quickly, sometimes! :-)
