Do any Mudcatters remember this 'Alice in Wonderland' record request programme from Radio Luxembourg in the 50's? I think the presenters were Peter Murray and Peter Madren. Listeners would request a record they disliked, which would then be played, after which the obviously shellac 78 would be smashed. Well so they said anyway - but the sound effects were there. It was radio after all.

Yes, I certainly do! Wasn't the theme song "So long, been good to know you"?

Do you remember the Horace Batchelor adverts with the laboriously spelt out address too?

Snuggled under the bedclothes with a little transistor radio, listening to Ricky Nelson, The Undertakers ,et al, slowly fading in & out, then the dreaded " .......K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M ....." etc.I never did send off to Horace ; I guess that's why I'm still poor !!

I remember Horace Batchelor and the Infradraw Method,

I thought it was a type of birth control.
