Some of the folk at Newtongrange Folk Club might know too. This was the club that Lesley was most associated with latterly, as well as the Loanhead Guitar club. Lesley was a prolific songwriter, and several of her songs are regularly sung by club members. She died in October 2009.

I sent the master of the Nevis LP to Lesley as she wanted to make a CD a few years ago but she never acknowledged receipt of it. I know she passed away a few years later.

Lesley recorded a cassette called "Sing Me an Island". Don't remember any details but I do know where the original tape is. If anyone is interested, I can check before giving details.

I think the Withy did a couple of tracks on a sampler but no idea which.

Eddie

Bitter Withy were, as many of you will know, a Scottish folksong group consisting of Tich Frier, Andy Ramage and the late Lesley Hale. They formed one night after meeting and singing together at an Edinburgh folk club. They recorded on album that I know about: "Sampler" on Jim Maclean's Nevis label (it was produced by Jimmie Macgregor). Did they record anything else?
