Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: Dave Hanson Date: 11 Mar 11 - 08:56 AM Last year we camped at the Rugby Club, the facilities were primitive to say the least, which is the kindest thing I could say. Dave H |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: Paul Davenport Date: 11 Mar 11 - 01:20 PM 'Hutton le hole is 30 miles away over the moors... Hardly just down the road...!!!' How very English Billy. Most countries on this planet regard 70 miles as a short hop! In Australia its too close for comfort in many cases! |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: dozy rozy Date: 11 Mar 11 - 03:18 PM Primitive facilities? I couldn't care less as long as there's a tap, a netty and a beer or two. I don't go away to wallow in the bathtub for hours on end. Any way, I believe the " facilities" have been upgraded,so that puts paid to the late night sing and swim. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: Dave Hanson Date: 11 Mar 11 - 06:41 PM And it's f*****g miles away from Whitby. Dave H |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: dozy rozy Date: 12 Mar 11 - 01:58 AM Miles away indeed. Never heard such exaggerated nonsense. A mere stroll, unless you are practically bedridden with a terminal illness, or a total shiftless lazy ....person. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: dozy rozy Date: 12 Mar 11 - 02:17 AM And I speak with conviction, being an elderly lady myself, whose best years are sadly behind me. Cough cough cough. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: GUEST,old git Date: 12 Mar 11 - 07:31 AM With conviction ,Bev?...ah...they finally caught up with you! |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: dozy rozy Date: 12 Mar 11 - 10:21 AM Yes but I shall battle on with fortitude. Not a word of complaint.A trouper to the end, if the walk from whitby doesnt kill me. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: Ann N Date: 12 Mar 11 - 11:09 AM There is (or was ) a little hoppa bus running a regular route down Love Lane past the Rugby Club, along the West Cliff then back down to town. I'll try to find the details and post them :) Can't have anyone pegging out in the streets. |

Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: GUEST,merrylocks Date: 12 Mar 11 - 03:04 PM The walk doesn't take long, but the taxis which are always outside the station are even quicker and last year cost less than a £1 each, but only if you bring your friends back with you. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: GUEST,B Poster Date: 22 Mar 11 - 12:48 PM I wish they had put the rugby ground down by the harbour side it would have made things so much easier for people...!! Subject: RE: Whitby Spring Session 27th - 29th May From: GUEST,muppitz Date: 20 May 11 - 06:25 AM I'm playing again, either the boys can't get enough of my lovely singing or they just give me the booking to shut me up! The facilities are what they are, I recall one festival I went to where even finding a toilet was something of a challenge! The water in the showers was hot, there was somewhere to hang my towel and I have my trusty flip flops to save me standing on the dirty part of the floor! That'll do me! As someone else has said regarding the taxi situation, if you get a group of four, a one way journey is less than a quid, you're hardly going to go bankrupt! I really enjoyed last year, it was my fella's first trip to Whitby and my tent held up very well in the wind! But I'd like to apologise to anyone who was offended by my excess noise making during Waterson-Carthy, I'd spent the day getting drunk in town with the two Julies, no one gets out of that situation unscathed! muppitz x |

As for you Muppitz - you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink, no arms were twisted as I recall |
