To All Our Borderline Friends,

It was great to see a full house and many new faces at our Loretta Hagen concert last Sunday. It was our first show of 2011 and it was a huge success, despite having to compete with a playoff football game and 2 nearby free library concerts.

Our February concert is coming up in just 4 short weeks, on Sunday, February 27th at 2 PM. It will once again be at the New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps building, located at 200 - Congers Road, New City, NY 10956.

We will be featuring an outstanding bluegrass band, MARK MIKLOS & THE RARITAN VALLEY RAMBLERS from East Brunswick, New Jersey. They have a unique style that combines traditional hard driving bluegrass with a twist of country. Mark Miklos writes many of his own songs which he delivers with a rich tenor voice and he is backed up by some of the best instrumental bluegrass musicians in the northeast. It is a performance that you will thoroughly enjoy.
Our feature performers will be doing two 45 minute sets with a 20 minute intermission.

We are also starting something new at The Borderline, in the form of an opening act. Opening the show will be one of our local favorites MICHAEL "ZAYDIE" SCOLNICK, a traditional folksinger in the style of Pete Seeger. Michael runs the weekly song circle at the Beacon Sloop Club and has opened for Pete many times. You will enjoy his songs as well as his musicianship on the guitar. He will be doing one 30 minute set.

As usual our admission is $20 per person, but only $15 if you become a Borderline member for 2011. You can sign up at the door and still be eligible for the member's rate for this concert. We also ask all of you to bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to share with 4 other people. Please remember that we are an alcohol free venue.

It is advisable to make your reservations as soon as possible. Our bluegrass shows always do very well and some people have already put in their reservations at the last concert. You can reserve by e-mail to me at solz1@optonline.net or by calling me at (845) 354-4586.

See you all on February 27th.

SOL ZELLER (President)
