So sorry we couldn't be there but we are glad that you all had such a successful fundraiser. In the meantime, here's a link to Botham's - certainly one of our favourite places in Whitby.

Finally got the grand total for the weekend, we managed to raise NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS, FIFTY EIGHT PENCE (£950.58). A fantastic amount especially given the current economic climate. The provisional date for next year is Friday 2nd March 2012.

A huge thank you to all who came and supported the efforts over the weekend.

Cheers

Raggytash

Oops, the problem with thanking people is you invariably miss someone out, a very special thanks should also go the the Wilkes Head public house in Leek,Staffordshire. Moggy (the landlord) and the good people who frequent it have for a good number of years provided stalwart support for the Rescue Boat, these guys and gals are brilliant. Thanks again.

Christine (Wombat) and I have just spent the latter part of the afternoon counting and bagging up the monies raised this weekend. Thanks to the fantastic generosity of all the good people who have helped we have manage to raise for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat a sum of Eight Hundred and Seventy Four pounds (£874.00) We still have to collect a further sum of money from the First Inn Last Out which we believe to be about £70.
I would like to express our very grateful thanks to everyone who attended and everyone who helped us, included the various buisnesses who aided our efforts, The Endeavour pub, Bothams, Wilson's Fruit and Vegetable, the FILO and finally but by no means least the Sea Urchin games shop for some fabulous games for the raffle. There are numerous other people who made very generous personal donations, you know who you are all I can say, on behalf of the Rescue Boat is THANK-YOU !!!!

Did you know there's a national shortage of corned beef !, Apparently Argentina has cut back on export of the stuff, this could have had serious repercussions for the now traditional Corned Beef Hash that I make for the fund raiser..............HOWEVER .... Jo Botham of Bothams Bakeries has once again come up trumps and donated the corned beef for the hash, he has gone out of his way to ensure we have supplies, so when you're in Whitby and need a bite to eat or something special to take home with you Bothams is the place to go.

Thanks to Jo.

For those of you not familiar with Whitby, Botham's Bakery was started in 1865 by Elizabeth Botham, they are superb bakers who not only make fantastic bread but have wide variety of pie's, cakes and buns. They also market a range of jam's, tea's, sweets, etc. Look them up, they do do mail order !

It's that time of year again, the annual fund raiser for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat will take place on Friday 4th March. You know the format and if it ain't broke we ain't going to fix it.
