Yes we did - and had to send for extra chairs....!

Thanks Jackie and Mike for a brilliant concert and all best wishes for your and the band's tours!

We had the added bonus of Tristan Seume as well. Tristan is part of the Jackie Oates band, but he's also a member of the Music Institute club, so sat in. The evening was a great success - we were also in the happy position of selling out, but in the sad position of having to turn several people away at the door. Hope you have as good a night!

Tickets for this have now sold out ... so don't leave home in hopes of getting in on the door.

Kitty - I know not. I took it from the man who does the publicity ... but I rather suspect that you may be right. Whatever the case, we only have five tickets left now .. so if anyone was thinking of attending I would suggest that they ring 01483 871443 first before setting out just to check!

Aargh ... no it's not 4th March - it's 4th February. Are there any Mud Elves out there who could change the heading please?

The guest at the Music Institute Folk Club in Guildford on Friday 4th February is Jackie Oates. Jackie was winner of two BBC Folk Awards in 2009 – The Horizon Award for best new comer & Best Traditional Track Award - and her most recent album was in the Top 10 of the Mojo albums of the year. She is a singer and fiddle player and her unique treatment of English ballads and songs, and pure, haunting singing style has attracted increasing attention.

Accompanying Jackie on the night will be Mike Gosgrove. She may also well be joined at some point during the evening by club member Tristan Seume (who is a member of the Jackie Oates Big Band).
Tickets can be purchased on the door or in advance at this location
