I've been given accolloids by many of the attendees, but as well as my thanking them in return, I've had to respond something like "If I'd just come here on me own, it would've been no fun at all" [imagine a solitary & sad Mr Happy – sob, sniffle!] So I invited as many friends & mystery guests as possible to cater for all [my] tastes. Also I'm sure all would join me in a vote of thanks to Calvin & Shane Phillips & their staff at Bull Bay Hotel for the lovely food spread they put on for us for each of the evening sessions and for making rooms & spaces available for the varying & diverse musical themes. So to paraphrase the parting speech of Leonard Sachs in 'The Good Old Days' – "Many thanks to the company, the players, but chiefly yourselves!!!!!!!!!!!" Sincerely, Mr Happy |

HOWEVER - here's the bad bit. My fingers as some of you saw are a bit of a mess and having been dragged by the lovely Sean to A and E on the way home, have been informed that I have managed to snap the tendons on both 'ring' fingers and am scheduled for emergency surgery with the plastic surgeons at Whiston HOspital tomorrow morning... Great news hey!! |

As the numbers of folkies attending is expanding as we speak, I was conscious that there's many & varied musical tastes to be catered for, e.g. serious unaccompanied singing, musician seshes of various kinds, Irish, English, French etc,& the good ol' free for all mixed music & song session. For this reason, I've asked the hotel if this diversity can be accommodated & their response is that we can use 3 separate areas, the large breakfast room, the small dining room & the pool room. Weather permitting, we may be able to have sessions out on the front lawn overlooking the bay! Yee- Hah, can't wait!! |

We open at 1pm to stock up the bar and kitchen for the evening ceilidh with caller Ralph Smethurst and Madcap on Friday 29 April, followed by Saturday night concert with Ric Sanders Group....so decided to make the afternoons pre ceilidh and concert warm up sessions. There are 20 caravan and campervan spaces, tents are at nearby pubs The Olive Grove and The Bickerton Poacher. The second grand venture in wild Wales presented by Mr Happy enterprises will be taking place this Easter in Anglesey, North Wales. Latest News! Mr Happy & Fiends at Easter will be venturing off to the Bull Bay Hotel, Bull Bay, Nr. Amlwch, Anglesey It'll be on from Good Friday 22nd April 2011 until Bank Hol Monday 25th April 2011. The campsite will be available from Thursday 21st April until Tuesday 26th April. Its a DIY do- bring yerselves, yer tents, vans, caravans, voices,instruments & kitchen sink! Session/Sinaround Thur nite/Fri nite/Sat afternoon & evening/Sun afternoon & evening - either in pub or on campsite weather permitting. Campsite facilities include cold water tap!! & cold water WC - not to be missed!!! All welcome - come on down - it'll be brill!! |
