I am working on a primary schools project in West Yorkshire leading up to The Holmfirth Festival of Folk (May 6th to 8th, Festival Website)where the children will perform in a children's concert.

The idea we are playing with at the moment is that the children will perform a number of "welcome songs" ...... one will be the welcome song from the school's "twin" school in Uganda and I may work with the kids to write their own welcome song.

I'd also like to include a couple of traditional songs from different parts of the British Isles (or possibly the world!) that fit with this theme.

Might also consider written songs (Eric Bogle's "Sound of Singing" is one possibility) but really want to include a trad or 2 as well.

Any ideas???
