Subject: Lyr Req: Lucinda Williams song -- crazy blue eyes
From: GUEST,Wendy Laubach

I saw Lucinda Williams perform a song in Houston in the 1970s, something about:

You make me weak in the knees, baby, but I should have known better
It's just those crazy blue eyes of yours
But when you look at me that way, baby, . . .
You make me want to get down on all fours.

I've never heard it again or seen it on any of her recordings.

It couldn't hurt to try Lucinda's website; you might get a personal reply (though you might have to wait a while).

Any prolific songwriter has written many more songs than the general public ever hears, and routinely discards or "forgets" older songs as new ones replace them in their repertoire.

The '70s were quite a while ago. I knew Ms Williams in '73, when she was still going by the name "Cindy" Williams and still a teenager; she was an incredibly talented writer and performer, but I doubt that any of her work that impressed me so much back then still gets performed these days.

She left New Orleans for Dallas that summer and never came back; moved to Houston not long afterward and eventually to Austin, where she stayed for quite a while and began to establish herself.

There is a Crazy Blue Eyes attributed to Lacy J Dalton. You can hear it on Youtube or just plain Google it.
