Anyone around who was there? I'm looking for any news clippings, recollections, photos. Particularly Sunday night, when the Kingston Trio played. I've got a lot of info from George Wein, but I would like to hear from someone who was there.

The film about it gets repeated on the Sky Arts channel quite a lot.

The videos are related to the 59 Jazz Festival and to later Folk Festivals. But not about the 59 Folk Festival. Th film "Festival" is about Newport Festivals 63-65.

Anybody out there who can remember the 1959 Festival?

John isn't a registered member, so he can't send a personal message.

John, if you'd like to e-mail me your e-mail address, I'll send it on to Mary Katherine.

Was 1959 the FIRST NFF? I know that the Jazz Festival existed at Newport for several years before they started the Folk Festival, and '59 seems fairly early in the folk revival era....
