Subject: Richard Thompson Dream Attic Tour From: Bonzo3legs Date: 05 Feb 11 - 07:21 AM Did anybody see the Richard Thompson Band on this tour? We saw the RFH gig last Wednesday which was superb, masterful guitar playing from the man throughout. His daughter sang a wonderful version of Heart Needs a Home for the final encore. Tear stained letter was a family affair with his grandson taking a very enthusiastic guitar solo and volac support from daughter and daughter in law! Christine Collister also made a surprise appearance on back up vocals for a few songs. |

Subject: RE: Richard Thompson Dream Attic Tour From: Will Fly Date: 06 Feb 11 - 08:43 AM I missed him when they came to the Dome recently as part of the same tour, but a good friend went to see him. Verdict: impressive as ever, with RT letting rip in the 2nd half - particularly on "Tear Stained Letter". Neither of us think that the "Dream Attic" album is quite up to his usual standard (I have the CD), but anything he does is always thoughtful and interesting - and superbly performed. Glad you enjoyed him! |
