Approximately 20 years ago Jimmy Dale Gilmore sang a song about an alcoholic being thankful he woke up in jail. I do not remember the title nor much else. Hope it rings some bells.

Just remembered a line in the song that goes like this.

"There's nothing as blind as a man who will not see".

The song's title is 'These Blues' and he recorded it on his 'After Awhile' album.
