Just about recovered from the weekend. Had a great time and saw most of what I wanted to. Shame about the clashes with other festivals meaning artists not being around for the whole weekend, but such is life.

Just returned from this superb festival and what a weekend. I found great and varied sessions, helpful stewards, beautiful weather and of course oodles of great performances from famous, not-yet-famous and infamous bands culminating in one of the finest live bands ive ever seen, rising stars The QP played a sublime set on sunday night. And that was not even on the main stage!    And no im not on the fest payroll just a very satisfied customer. And now to sidmouth. :)

~One of the best festivals. The variety of events and locations means you would be hard pushed not to find something to suit you most of the time. As a singer, some of the best locations for acoustic harmony I have ever experienced. I remember singing Lowlands in the ladies toilets wih Colin Kemp Theresa Tooley God rest them and the wonderful John Morris and others -truly awesome! Great food stalls as well for those not wanting to bring their own. It is a great festival I am truly sorry to miss this year.

There were a number of possible Concertina events planned, or talked about including the very successful Concertina Concert, (Anglo last time).Possibly English this, but sadly it has all fallen through. Perhaps another year.

As concertina players, we were planning to go as many of the workshops were going to be concertina orientated. Now it turns out this idea has been dropped, so as we're having a busy and expensive year we've decided not to go.

Warwick is most definitely not a "Ghetto festival" whatever that is. And there are no steel fences. It is held on a school site (universally regarded as one of the best in the country), in a very relaxed setting, as well as in the town. There are umpteen venues on site - from the Main marquee (which probably isn't your cup of tea) down to small rooms with workshops and singarounds and music sessions. In town, virtually every pub has something on, whether it be an arranged event or an impromptu session. If you can't find something to your liking amongst that lot, you are indeed a VERY difficult person to please. Also, it is difficult to see what else the organisers can do to satisfy persons such as your self.

I hope you enjoy another festival elsewhere that fits the bill - wherever that is!!

I accept that many are happy with the Festival, but for me I do not like "Ghetto Festivals" behind steel fences. It is somewhat difficult to make a "Silk Purse out of a Sows Ear" The last Singaround in the Castle I went to was run by 3 people who were a little the worse for wear and were asleep on the Benches at 3 in the afternoon. Try as you might and with all the will in the World it is damned near impossible to get a "Good"session going. Best wishes to Dick and his band of helpers they do a good job, but it ain't for me

The on site singarounds mean no necessity to go into townm and have to battle or wait until the musos finish!

There have been some cracking singarounds on site. We rarely go into Warwick town as there is so much for the kids and us to do without leaving the school.

I used to love going to Warwick and spent most of my time in the Crown and Castle Singing Sessions, wonderful and inspiring, or going to a Concert. Then it all changed so the anticipation and excitement evaporated, the Singarounds became dismal dreary affairs and so I stopped going. I went 2 years ago on the Saturday evening and we stayed for less than 30 minutes.I am glad that many like it but for me , well I would rather have a weekend in the Garden
