+ Gary Boyle at the Cabbage Patch, Twickenham this Sunday (13th Feb)

All welcome....

A rare chance to see this new musical project comprising Maggie Boyle (voice/flute), Gordon Tyrrall (voice/guitar/flute) and Gary Boyle (no relation!!...guitar)

Through her ballads, Maggie Boyle continues the tradition of storytelling passed on by her Irish family. She has accrued a wide catalogue of live and recorded work, such as film soundtracks (including "Patriot Games" title track) and international theatre and folk circuit appearances. Maggie has worked with James Horner, The Chieftains, Bert Jansch, Rambert Dance Company, Steve Tilston, John Renbourn and Incantation.

"Maggie Boyle tackles largely traditional song with a full-blooded ardour that'll come as a shock to those weaned on the flaky New Age nonsense sold to us as Celtic music through most of the '90s. Boyle gets right inside the songs in the uncompromising manner of the best storytellers." - Colin Irwin, fROOTS

Although grounded in traditional music and performing it regularly in folk clubs and at festivals in various formations, virtuoso guitarist Gordon Tyrrall also worked in theatre, radio and television (e.g. in the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice). He performs solo or in duos with Brian Peters as well as Maggie Boyle and in this new trio.

Gary Boyle's career began in the 1960's where he began working with Dusty Springfield. This was followed by the first of two stints with Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll (two albums) and including tours of the UK, Europe and the USA. Among his many collaborations, he has worked with Danny Thompson's "Whatever", folk/rock band Eclection (with Gerry Conway and the late Trevor Lucas), Bert Jansch, John Etheridge and Jim Mullen. His six solo albums have received critical acclaim, "The Dancer" winning the Pop/Jazz Award at Montreaux Jazz Festival.

"A uniquely mouth-watering combination of musical talents, and one not to be missed! Of course, the two Boyles – wondrous singer Maggie and equally wondrous guitarist Gary (no relation), with the addition of the mighty Gordon Tyrrall" Dave Kidman (NetRhythms)

It'll be a FANTASTIC show and NOT to be missed.

My goodness. You seem to be presenting folks that are all good friends of mine. Please give Gordon, Gary and Maggie my love and I do hope to see them when I am in W. Yorks in late March.
