These festivals are dropping like flies! Oxford Folk fest, Trowbridge Village pump, Alcester folk club has finished.

This thread is coming to an end too. I've decided not to hold a folk weekend at this venue. PM me for details if you're interested.

Thre will be no Pontardawe Festival in 2011, I'm told. There'll be a concert on August 13th, though.

I really think you should use Engineered Hardwood and stay away from laminate. They are too slippery.

It looks as tho the colder months would be ok for this folk weekend. There is a bunk room at a reasonable cost per person, per night. I'm still negotiating so won't put anything in writing yet. Of course if you have a caravan or camper van, there's a field with hook ups! This really is a great place. It's apparently the hotel after which the game Cluedo was designed. Well someone on Facebook told me that, and having walked around it the other night, I can see that it could be.

So what do you think?

I replied to the Facebook thread but it was not aqs clear as this asking about end march/April no good for me I'm afraid . I must admit that as some one who does not often go to Bedworth having something to go to in November is very appealing

And 12th - 14th August clashes with Bideford Folk Festival which is back for 2011! It's not a full week, though, this year. The camp site will open on Thursday, so Friday to Sunday will be full days.

More news when I'm back from Cheltenham FF and Sidmouth Reunion.

And Trowbridge Village Pump Festival isn't happening this year so I think we may be losing big festivals too.

We are stardust
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

What a terrible shame about the Salwey, sadly we're going to be losing more and more of these excellent pubs.

13-14th Aug is also Saltburn

Sounds like a Fantastic Venue Sal, good luck! When you say camping, do you mean caravans?

13-14th August clashes with Cropredy, Grove & possibly Pontardawe etc.
10-11th September clashes with Bromyard & Swanage etc.

You'll always clash with something Sal, so don't worry!

John: The Salwey is closed, that's why i've been looking for another venue.

so far someone has suggested 13th & 14th august or 10th & 11th sept, any advance on that and does it clash with anything?

At the moment late March / early April is good for me, October too although early November is out (Souling time).

Any news on the situation @ the Salwey? The last I heard the landlord was moving on.

JJ

Is late March or early April too soon or too early for you all? Would October or November be better? Not to clash with Banbury or Bedworth of course. I need answers and input please.
Thanks.

It's time for Sally to organise another folk wkend and this venue will take some beating. THE BASKERVILLE HALL HOTEL near Hay on Wye. Great camping facilities. Swimming pool, bunk rooms, lovely rooms for song and music sessionis. Dance Hall for the Ceilidh. Oh and great beer! So folks, I need a date, suggestions please.
Sal
