From: Jeremiah McCaw

You be talkin' 'bout "Let It Be Me" from the Everly Bros?

If so...

Let It Be Me

1 [G] I bless the [D] day I found you

[Em] I want to [Bm] stay around you

[C] And so I [G] beg you

[C] Let it be [G] me

2 [G] Don't take this [D] heaven from one

[Em] If you must [Bm] cling to someone

[C] Now and [G] forever

[C] Let it be [G] me

R [C] Each time we [Bm] meet love

[C] I find [G] complete love

[Am] Without your [Bm] sweet love

[C] What would life be [B] [D]

3 [G] So never [D] leave me lonely

[Em] Tell me you [Bm] love me only

[C] And that you'll [G] allways

[C] Let it be [G] me

R again

3 again, repeat last line

The first line of the tune is...

"Walk hand in hand with me, all through eternity; No greater love can be......"

That's as much as I can remember.

As I recall this song, it was a moderate hit in the 1950s for Don Cornell or Tony Martin or one of those folk music types. Perhaps you would would be better served for this song on a pop music lyric page.---John

Something just kicked in. I think I hear Gerry Marsden (ie Gerry & the Pacemakers) in the back of my mind. Back in a minute ...

Okay, more like half an hour. BUT I FOUND THE DAMNED THING!!!

Well, sorta ... 'Twas them, recorded 'bout '67. Haven't got a transription of the lyrics, but if you go to

http://www.gerrymarsden.com/sounds.html

you'll find a real audio file. Not complete, but 2 verses anyway. Closer than we've been, donann. Yer on yer own. (Maybe it can be found on one of the MP3 sites.)

Walk hand in hand with me Through all eternity have faith believe in me Give me your hand

Be not afraid For I am with you all the time So lift your head up high And reach towards the sky

Walk hand in hand with me This is our destiny Have faith believe in me

Sorry this is all that I remember

Hi - a good place to look for pop lyrics is Lyrics World.
-Joe Offer-

Walk Hand In Hand

Walk hand in hand with me through all eternity
Have faith, believe in me, give me your hand
Love is a symphony of perfect harmony
When lovers such as we walk hand in hand

Be not afraid, for I am with you all the while
So lift your head up high and look toward the sky

Walk hand in hand with me, this is our destiny
No greater love could be, walk hand in hand
Walk with me

Be not afraid, for I am with you all the while
So lift your head up high and look up to the sky

Walk hand in hand with me, this is our destiny
No greater love could be, walk hand in hand
Walk with me

It starts "When you walk through storm holdyour head up high" - but then, us Liverpudlians never were very imaginative.
