Reg Meuross and Phil Beer were at that gig at The Manor, Reg had it on his FB page.

The whole 24 hour appeal raised over £15,000 apparently.

The Radio Devon Air Ambulance appeal coincided with the winter reunion weekend for the Middle Bar Singers and the Radway musicians. The Middle Bar singers were sending round collecting tins for both the Sidmouth Festival and the Devon Air Ambulance during the singing sessions.

And there was also a concert on Friday in the Manor Pavilion, in aid of Cancer Relief.

There was an interview with Joan Crump of the Sidmouth Festival talking about this year's plans. This was done in the Middle Bar of the Anchor I think.

They were raising money for the Air Ambulance - not sure if it was separate or part of the Radio Devon appeal.

Very interesting.

I'm off to catch up on all the great acts I missed during the night and Saturday morning...

The Billycox from Exmouth were superb!!!    Not sure if I've got their name correct though..

My pleasure, Pete. :0) x

Seth's on now, recorded interview, but he's on live tomorrow morning, along with his Dad, Geoff...and...Seth's just got engaged.

Congratulations, Seth!

Awwwwwww......

They all sound like they're having a great time in the studio, lots of musicians have turned out, much laughter and love going on from the sound of it...

Quick, Nurse, the screens! ;0)

Pete, they have a Listen Again button, so I'd assume you should be able to hear it on Sunday, or late Saturday night..
It's due to finish at 2pm tomorrow afternoon.

Failing that, you can always email them....

Glad to hear it's all going well. Devon Folk is one of the good radio folk programmes and the Air Ambulance Service is very valuable.

I just hope the put it on iplayer as I'm supposed to be working and can't listen in!

Best wishes,

Peter

WOW!! Jenna Witts just sang, unaccompanied....and she was FANTASTIC!
The presenters were totally bowled over too..

Well done, Jenna!

They've got folks busking down in Plymouth City Centre too, collecting money that way.

Soooo enjoying this..as are the folks on Radio Devon I think, who are starting to realise just how wonderful so many musicians and singers are within the folk world..

This is an excellent advert for folk music!

Well, this is ALL Reg's fault! :0)

He's just sung the most *beautiful* song called 'The Shoreline & The Sea'...and that was it...I just donated £10!

Oh, the power of a beautiful song and a great cause..

The most touching love song I've heard in a very long time...

Sandy Denny's just been played too....'Who Knows Where The Time Goes'

Reg Meuross is on now..(1 hour 20 minutes in from the 2pm Folk Relief start)..and he's singing a song about Tavistock and Dartmoor. I missed the start of the song, but they rescued him from drowning, so they could hang him at Exeter Gaol...

'Cold and Bitter Wind' it's called..brilliant live performance of a great song.

I'll have to get the whole story from the Listen Again button when it's activated...

Steve Knightley and Jim Causley are both on at the moment, singing and talking about what brought them into folk music...Steve's talking about Sidmouth drawing him into it.

Jim's just sung 'Warlike Lads of Russia'

I think this is going to be a really good 24 hours! :0)

And you can listen live or listen again on the BBC Radio Devon site..

Just a reminder that this is starting at 2pm this afternoon, going on for the next 24 hours and includes over 40 folk musicians from across the South West....

Should be great...and hopefully it'll raise a lot of money for the Devon Air Ambulance as well.
