From: Pigstrings
Date: 15 Feb 11 - 05:48 PM

Hi Mudcatters!

Booking now open for the Pig's Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2011 on www.folkale.co.uk

Ashdown Forest Morris Men will be dancing at TKH on Wednesday evening 1st June; Festival starts with a session in the bar 8.30 Thursday 1st June.

From 2.30 pm on Friday 2nd June we've got an Open Mic session hosted by the Leopards to take us into a pretty much non-stop weekend of musical wonderfullness.

Guests this year include Dave Cousins and Ian Cutler and Les Barker. Ron Trueman-Border and the Strangers will be the cream topping on the fantastic Friends of the Folk Ale concert which runs from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm on Saturday with contributions from lots of fantastic local bands - see the website for details.

Get your tickets booked - there are unlikely to be any available "on the door" this year. It's going to be another cracker folks!!! (Just get that weather ordered, will you?)

We will be there (probably) but there were no available slots apart from after 7 over the road which would have meant crossing the road without a chicken and staying sober-ish until after 7 on the Saturday.

There is a whole new open mic session on Friday afternoon - which Roger the Chorister would be very welcome to contribute to...and anyone else who is going to be able to get there Friday.

The field is official available Friday, but if you speak nicely to Mr. Barden you can get in on Thursday - please pitch sensibly!

Met-check keeps changing its mind. Current reportage: -

Thursday - 24 degrees, wet after 6 pm
Friday - 24 degrees, wet until 6 am and after 6 pm, otherwise drizzle
Sat - 14 degrees (that has to be a mistake surely?) but at least dry
Sun - 15 degrees and rain begins at noon.

I shall feel more confident when the predictions get in range on the met office site.

Thurs trivial rain starting Noon, top temp a bare 16 degrees.
Fri light rain all day, top temp 11 degrees (brrr)
Sat light rain 'till noon, top temp 16 degrees
Sunday dry but temp at 6 am only 5 degrees (BRRRRRRRRR) rising to 8 at noon and 12 at 6pm.

Very odd - while metcheck is now saying not too wet and indeed dry in parts, the "this week" bit shows temps in low to mid 20s, but the "next week" part ie Sat and Sun is showing daytime temps of about 10 degrees. I suspect a programming glitch.

Sue

Sorry for the delayed response re the Open Mic question - it needs to finish by around 5.30 to make sure there's time to set up for the evening concert.

All -

This year we're got wristbands to swap for your ticket on arrival. Can anyone prepared to do a stint on the ticket desk or CD sales tell the person they get their wristband from! We need more volunteers.

Also - we'll give you a placci bag for your camping permit, please display it proudly on your tent or caravan.

Mark Beech village hall is a lovely little additional venue - do stroll over to the Saturday evening song session and have a look.
