Subject: Lyr Req: When I was Young From: eftifino Date: 21 Feb 11 - 10:46 AM Searching for the Lyrics to a Philip Green composition, 'When I was Young', recorded in EMI as the B side to Noel Purcell's 'The Filly with the Long black Mane' Also written by Philip Green. This is NOT the Animal's song, nor Charles Aznavour. Can anyone oblige? One part of it goes: 'But now I know But now I realy know, Of only one thing I am really very sure: Love is a Gift, Love is a Gift" |
Subject: Lyr Add: BUT NOW I KNOW (Philip Green) From: Reinhard Date: 21 Feb 11 - 03:31 PM Jean Gabin: But now I know When I was young and very sure for everything had a cure I said: I know, I know, I know, I know When I was older and more mature and not so very, very sure I said: I know, at least I think I know But now I know, but know I really know I've only one thing I'm truly very sure That is, I wish I knew, I wish I knew When I was young, love was my right A passing cloud, a pleasant night Love was my right, and love was my delight Then, with the passing of the years Love brought me happiness and tears Love was a pleasure, a priceless treasure But know I know, but know I really know I've only one thing I am truly very sure Love is a gift, love is a gift Now in the September of my life Now I can remember all my life All the joy and sorrows of my life All the fine tomorrows of my life When I was young, I met my memories If thousand memories to live with evermore Then, later on, I had my memories I lived my memories a thousand times or more But know I know, but know I really know In spite of all I've learned or even hoped to learn One simple truth is very, very clear to me: I'll never know, I'll never know! |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: When I was Young From: eftifino Date: 22 Feb 11 - 06:55 AM Many Thanks, Reinhard - Perfect! Noel had a different last verse: But now I know, but now I really know, If I have Hope, and something worth hoping for, One hope is worth a thousand memories Now THIS I Know, THIS I know. I'm biased, I think his ending is better! thanks again. |
Subject: Lyr Add: WHEN I WAS YOUNG (Eric Burdon&The Animals From: GUEST,Wooden Eye Date: 22 Feb 11 - 07:19 AM When I Was Young Eric Burdon & The Animals The rooms were so much colder then. My father was a soldier then. And times were very hard. When I was young. When I was young. I smoked my first cigarette at ten. And for girls, I had a great yen. When I was young. When I was young it was more important. Pain more painful, the laughter much louder, yeah. When I was young. When I was young. I met my first love at thirteen. She was brown, and I was pretty green. And I learned quite a lot. When I was young. When I was young. When I was young it was more important. Pain more painful, laughter much louder, yeah. When I was young. When I was young. My faith was so much stronger then. I believed in fellow men. And I was so much older then. When I was young. When I was young. When I was young. When I was young. When I was young. |
