Following the sad loss of "Folkwaves", can anyone tell me which local BBC stations still have folk programs, and whether they have internet access? The only one I've found so far is Genevieve Tudor's "Sunday Folk" on BBC Shropshire:

There's a long list of everything even vaguely "folk" on BBC radio at this page:

I very much enjoy Genevieve Tudor because of the variety of music she plays within her folk remit.

Frank Hennessy is still going strong on BBC Radio Wales, bless 'im, and it is available online. In fact, I believe his Celtic Heartbeat gets the highest number of internet hits of any Radio Wales programme - something like 60,000, with the number two programme coming in at 8,000ish.

But then ... nobody likes folk, do they ...?

One thing is for absolute certainty. The BBC will do its very best to hide the fact that any of these programmes may close. The first you will know about it is when the programme itself closes.

That is their track record. The time to be vigilant is now. Keep telling the local radio station involved how much you like the programme and how much you would miss it.

Then at least any programme that closes will be done in the face of public opinion.
