Can't remember the rest, but I seem to recall it was sung on a TV show in the late 50's or early 60's by Petula Clark

I believe it was covered by the Beverley Sisters amongst others and written by Edmundo Ros, it is on youtube but the words are not necessarily clear or correct

If nobody has the lyrics there is a recording by Edmundo Ros. Here it seems to be on sale in the States, but you might find a UK copy. The short clip there makes it sound pretty clear.

I've a feeling the original remark may be one of Dorothy Parker's wisecracks, but I haven't researched it.

I remember this song from about 1950 (give or take), but neither the Ros or Beverley Sisters' renditions are what I remember...The Ros version, a calypso, is closer to what I do recall, so maybe it was the one.
