Jenny Murray asked her why she didn't self-identify as folk and she, quite rightly and fairly, replied because, "I think folk singer in this country is a perjorative term." You tell 'em, girl. I quite like Jenny Murray but offered her a slap later in the interview when she commented, "There was a period in the 60s when folk singing ACTUALLY became very fashionable." Well excuuuuuuuse me! Don't you just get fed up with Media Smug? Enjoyed the segment. It should be on the Woman's Hour mini-site soon. sian |
