If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it very much. Trying to find the words to the song Anna by Todd Mckinney, recorded by Tom Rush. I've spent hours on the internet looking at web page after web page, can't find the lyrics anywhere, as I said any help would be so welcome. Thank You

Hi, Keith-
Gee, it's a long recording, 5:09 minutes. Can you post what you have so far, so we can build on your transcription? I'll work on a transcription tomorrow, but it's late and time for bed now. G'nite.
Thanks.
-Joe-

Tom's diction in this clip is far clearer than the composer's on another clip I found. Tom Rush sings "Anna" by Todd McKinney

Here you go:

ANNA
(Todd McKinney)

Now dawn has come
Bringing only a veiled gaze
The sun in vain
Tries to burn away the haze
Well, she left and the word unspoken,
Let the dream be broken,
Don't sail away, don't sail away
Sail away sweet Anna

Now, looking back
The nights that stars and moon stood still
Close to her,
The warm winds made our wings to fill
Well, she left and the word unspoken,
Let the dream be broken,
Don't sail away, don't sail away
Sail away sweet Anna

Well, the wind has turned, sending her further
Well, the wind has turned, sending her further,
Further,
Ocean borne, on a sea of storm, sweet Anna

Now, the sea is calm,
Memories blow like driftwood to the shore
Leaving me
So much more lonely than before
Well, she left and the word unspoken,
Let the dream be broken,
Don't sail away, don't sail away
Sail away sweet Anna

Don't sail away, don't sail away
Sail away sweet Anna

Don't sail away, don't sail away
Sail away sweet Anna
