From: Max

Well, here it is folks, Episode II, Dead as dick says. I think we'll call it "Ankles Next". That's right, we are not broadcasting live tonight, but Bert and I helped verify that we are in fact alive. I just noticed that the chat does not appear to be working (at least for me) so this thread will act as our interaction with you this week. Anything you want to say to us, or suggestions you'd like to make while we are recording this episode, say it here for the next couple of hours. And please call us between 7pm and 8pm EST and you'll end up in the archived broadcast. 1-888-488-9050. We may call a couple of you at random and surprise you during our broadcast. Well, getting close, gotta get things ready.

This week we have a competition. A small prize will be awarded to the first person who calls in with the answer to this question.

In the thread "Is it Rick or Duckboots" Dick said "...but he can tell. And so can she."

The question is "What song is that from"????

Bert.

Damd what a thrill! I can't describe the joy in listening to a dead broadcast. Something to tell my grandkids, if I ever have any.

"Yep, You're granpaw was so ignernt he didn't listen to a dead non-broadcast!"

Sind one there "Blind Waxin' Max"....I won't be listening but it's OK if you're not singing....and that goes double for Bert, but only if agrees to sing to unwritten songs without notes or words.

Think I'll go wash the dishes........

It is a shame it is not on tonight as I had persuaded my mother to stay up late to have a listen (I assume that she did). Anyay, I'm sure it will come right in the end.

I tried this ICQ#16719177 and even downloaded some software to have a look. The only response I get from it is PING? PONG! - I suppose that is better than nothing!

Listening to the archive now and it's great (the intro at least). Bought a new guitar tonight and it's taking up a bit of my time as I leave town Friday morning and it is not coming with me.

Max and Bert,

I have just finished listening to the archive and I think that you did an excellent job - well worth listening to. Hopefully you will get the live it sorted out but most importantly KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

I just finished listening to the archive too. I'm ready to buy Art's CD based solely on "Way Down The Road" but I just got my new resophonic guitar this evening and I'm leaving to visit my grand-daughter (the beautiful Erica) on Friday so money seems a little tight right now. Someone remind me when I get back to get Art's CD.

Good work Bert and Max!!!

MAX & BERT: Thanks for the call last night, I now feel I've had the "complete" or maybe incomplete experience of not talking to either of you on the non-live, non-radio show that I wasn't listening to and was not enjoying. I DID listen to the archive of Episode Two and that was a little better. Thanks....It was fun.

And BILL D.: No more hamsters??? Well congratulations Brother......With new technology, you're gonna' be kinda' scary.........And although "Hamsterdance" is currently full, I was able to get your hamsters employment as backup singers at THIS site instead. And say, did you know Max did the Philosophy thing too?.......Karen doesn't want to come to the getaway now unless I promise to avoid conversation with the two of you.(:+)

I've heard the same line sung about the oysters in "The Virgin Sturgeon"

The oyster is a bivalve molusc
You can't tell the he from she
...something, something, something, something...
but he can tell and so can she.

Wish I could remember the third line, but it was back in '58 when I heard that one, so you'll have to make one up for yourself.

Bert.

Listened, and unfortunately wasn't around earlier to call in and say hi! Wonderful second show, Max and Bert. Video showed up a lot better this time, but are you guys next to a highway or something? Boy that car/truck/whatever was loud. :-) But it sounded great, guys! Can't wait until next week. Thanks to Allan for reminding me to listen!

I had done a search last night on the question asked by Bert using my new toy, DonkeyWork. It came up with something called Cats on the Roof Tops. The verse in question reads:

The clam is a paragon of purity And we can't tell a he from she, But he can tell, and so can she When they revel in the joys of fornication.

Nine minutes - not bad. It will forever haunt me, the thought that I might have inadvertantly caused "clammus interruptus" whilst looking for the horny little guys with my unprotected tootsies. How was I to know?

Max & Bert: I just got a chance, without net congestion, to listen to Ankles Next-Dead. It was great. I was really touched that you mentioned Shadowfax; that was really sweet of you both. Thank you very much. Sheesh, ya really know how to make a body teary-eyed, doncha?

I loved the history and philo you included, Max. It was really interesting and right on the money. Your song was great, Bert....good ole Johnny, eh? Max, great job on Frankie and whichever one she was with!*bg*

'Spaw sounded just great, too, loud and clear! keep up the good work....this place is going places, I'm tellin' ya!

Love ya and thanks (sounds so inadequate for all the good I get from here),
