Subject: Liberal Land of Oz From: jimrousey Date: 09 Sep 99 - 07:28 AM I'm trying to locate the lyrics (or a recording, if one is available) to a song which may be called "The Liberal Land of Oz." One of the lines went something like "we sleep till noon and get to work at one, take an hour for lunch, then our work is done." My email is jimrousey@igc.org. Thanks! |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Liberal Land of Oz From: Steve Parkes Date: 09 Sep 99 - 07:49 AM I take it this is L. Frank Baum's Oz, not the one next to Tasmania? I base my assumption on the word "liberal" :o) Steve |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Liberal Land of Oz From: Tiger Date: 09 Sep 99 - 03:11 PM Hey, Jim..... This is the one from the movie with the words you want. But I wonder if Rush Limbaugh and the boys haven't come up with a parody with a title like you gave. Anybody have it? .....Tiger Merry Old Land Of Oz - "The Wizard of Oz"
Ha-ha-ha, ho-ho-ho,
Bzz-bzz-bzz, chirp-chirp-chirp,
Take an hour for lunch and then at two we're done. Jolly good fun!
Ha-ha-ha, ho-ho-ho,
Pat, pat here, pat, pat there,
Rub, rub here, rub, rub there,
Can you even dye my eyes to match my gown? Uh-huh! Jolly old town!
Clip, clip here, clip, clip there,

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Liberal Land of Oz From: jimrousey Date: 10 Sep 99 - 12:30 AM Not the tune from the movie, but thanks. The chorus of the parody contained the line "all the women have burned their bras." It was amusingly weird, but my recorder choose that moment to die on me, so I only have a little bit of the song. |
