Subject: RE: Origins: Does anyone know this song? From: pavane Date: 07 Mar 11 - 12:11 PM Yes, certainly the right song, but a rather different version. You can hear it here, recorded on an old portable cassette recorder Ivy Bush floor singers |

Subject: RE: Origins: Does anyone know this song? From: pavane Date: 07 Mar 11 - 12:23 PM Lynne & Paul's version differs from Archie Fisher's, too. I think I prefer their version. Let me know what you think |

Subject: RE: Origins: Does anyone know this song? From: GUEST,Rattler Date: 07 Mar 11 - 07:31 PM It was titled "Tak the road" on Archie Fisher's LP called "Orfeo" from the late 60's. A beautiful little song. I tried to learn it from the recording but without the right accent, it just doesn't scan. No more details I'm afraid. |

Subject: RE: Origins: Does anyone know this song? From: ClaireBear Date: 07 Mar 11 - 09:00 PM I don't apprehend much difference between the two versions, other than Lynne's lovely strong harmony...but I can't hear it well enough to get much detail. Your memory may be helping you hear. |
