Hey, cool. Thanks Chris B. Think I might just turn out for that one. For anyone who doesn't know, Kevin Webster is one of the finest accordeon players you'd find anywhere.

Hiya Fred. Think the last time I saw you was at the old St Michaels' session in Liverpool when Sean Mac was running it. Be nice to see you if you can make it.

Fred. Good to have all the info on this thread, and it gives a chance for bumping it up so that people like me, who missed it first time, see it now.

I'm told the Raven club has a Facebook page and there's some bumf on that as well. What wonderful modern times we live in....

Ildanach paid Lymm Folk Club (run by Mudcatter Bernard) a visit a few weeks ago - they're a bit good!

Thanks, John! It was a great night at Lymm, as it happens. First time I'd been. Nice club.

Fred was obviously a bit grumpy - probably too much of the celebrating International Womens Day

Les,

So what's wrong with celebrating international women? I think they're wonderful, personally.

Les. What on earth are you on about? I was on the Liverpool International Women's Day march yesterday, singing with the Liverpool Socialist Singers, and had a great time.

An apology to Chris B. 'fraid I'm so knackered after an exhausting week I'm going to have to give the Bear and Billet a miss. I'll catch up with the lads and yourself another time.

Not to worry, Fred. This class struggle business is hard work. I can handle about an hour and a a half of it and then I need a nice cup of tea, a bacon buttie and a good lie down.

Great, great night, as it happens. Gorgeous little room packed with people. Great audience. Thanks a million to Nick, Chris and everyone at the club. We had an absolute blast. I'm reliably informed that the Raven club regularly gets similar attendances, including for singers' nights.

There was me thinking folk clubs were dying. What with this and Four Fools last Monday it's so nice to be proved wrong.

Whaddya mean an hour and a half? I managed all of ninety minutes last time. The trouble was, when I paused for a moment's regeneration I couldn't eat my bacon butty for all the vegans and vegetarians who went on the march.
