Subject: london singaround From: GUEST,Patmike Date: 10 Mar 11 - 10:32 AM I will be in London from March 25th. for three days. i wonder are there any singing sessions on those days. The last time I was there i went to the Tup and to Cecil Sharp House and enjoyed them both very much. Any information would be appreciated. |
Subject: RE: london singaround From: Leadfingers Date: 10 Mar 11 - 10:59 AM NOT a singaround , but Cellar Upstairs has Tony Hall on the Saturday ! |
Subject: RE: london singaround From: GUEST,Patmike Date: 10 Mar 11 - 01:00 PM Thanks for that. It looks interesting. I might give it a try. |
Subject: RE: london singaround From: Herga Kitty Date: 10 Mar 11 - 01:22 PM And the same night is the Capital folk club reunion at the Sun in Drury Lane - as far as I remember (the last reunion was over 10 years ago!) there'll be a welcome for current visitors to London, even if they didn't visit the club when it was running. And there will be opportunities to sing. Tony Hall is good, though! And the Cellar Upstairs generally. Kitty |
Subject: RE: london singaround From: Herga Kitty Date: 10 Mar 11 - 01:29 PM I've now posted about this to the Capital reunion thread, just in case my previous post was a breach of etiquette! Kitty (who did go to Capital when it was running, but not very often...) |
Subject: RE: london singaround From: Surreysinger Date: 10 Mar 11 - 01:48 PM Drat - I wanted to go and see Tony, but have just realised that I shall probably (hospitals willing) be down in Kent. Fiddle de dee ... he's an unmissable ... except in this case :-( |
Subject: RE: london singaround From: GUEST,Patmike Date: 11 Mar 11 - 11:01 AM Thanks Herga Kitty. The Sun in Drury lane looks as if it would be very enjoyable. I look forward to it. |
