Subject: RE: Catters in Sothern France From: bubblyrat Date: 11 Mar 11 - 09:15 AM Well, I'll be much closer to Pamiers and Mirepoix than anywhere else ( Foix is a bit far ) but I guess I may have to insinuate myself into the "local" music scene , if I have to ; I wonder what sort of stuff they like there ?? I'll give 'em Carolan , Poesen , and Paris , I guess !! |
Subject: RE: Catters in Sothern France From: Monique Date: 11 Mar 11 - 07:17 AM I suppose you mean Tarascon-sur-Ariège... -I don't want to sound pedant but "Tarascon"-period is Tarascon on the Rhône river, quite a different area- I went to Auzat and Ascou-Pailhères with my class in school trips and it was great. Andorra is also interesting for lower duty/duty free stuff such as cigarettes, alcohol etc...but there are customs officers at the customs post and what we call "la volante" (mobile squads -I don't know what you call them) anywhere. |
Subject: RE: Catters in Sothern France From: G-Force Date: 11 Mar 11 - 06:43 AM Well if there are any I'd be insanely jealous. We caravanned at Tarascon about 10 years ago and were won over by the area. Foix is an amazing place, and the drive up into Andorra is spectacular (still snow on the roadside in June). |

Subject: Catters in Southern France From: bubblyrat Date: 11 Mar 11 - 04:59 AM I am going to the Ariege region of Southern France ( the foothills of the Pyrenees ) next week for a while, and may well be returning regularly in the future, and wondered if there were any "Mudcatters" anywhere in that area ?? |
