Subject: RE: Lyr Req: She Walks in Pathways of Dreams From: GUEST,999 Date: 30 Dec 12 - 06:35 PM Dang, I didn't think to check here. Thanks, Mick. Nice work on that song for the Dutch fellow. Took me about 45 seconds into the song before I realized the band was singing in English. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: She Walks in Pathways of Dreams From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 30 Dec 12 - 07:35 PM Thanks 999. That's the 3rd Chron Gen track I've transcribed for him over the last 12 months. I think even my broad definition of folk might exclude CG, but Mudcat has always tried to answer whatever requests come this way, 'folk' or not. I never mind transcribing even clear recordings for non-native speakers (and I've enjoyed quite a few collaborative efforts here on early blues and music-hall recordings, which are difficult even for native English speakers for different reasons). CG must be exceptionally hard for non-native speakers given the speed they sing at. This last one was harder than the other two tracks - the vocals seemed more lost in the instrumental. But using 3 different recordings, numerous varying eq and time-slowing I think I got a reasonable approximation to it! Mick |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: She Walks in Pathways of Dreams From: GUEST,999 Date: 30 Dec 12 - 07:46 PM I don't think it fits the folk category either, but it's people like you who make this site so valuable to so many other people. I think that kind of effort does more for world peace and understanding than gangs of political gabbing. Good on yer, Mick! |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: She Walks in Pathways of Dreams From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 30 Dec 12 - 07:58 PM Thanks again - I'm off to bed blushing now! Mick |
