Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 20 Mar 12 - 06:56 PM @ 2581 I often re-mix a song with added or changed audio track. when I do, I don't delete the old track, I convert it to Private access. This is probably what you are seeing. In the description, I will usually note "see the newly remixed version at youtube/address.com," or whatever the address of the remixed video is. Clicking on that address, or copying and pasting it, will get you to the new public access version. Or visit my channel at Macfeeley where all of the viewable videos are displayed. Sorry for the confusion. I may be confusing others as well, and may consider deleting the older versions. Thanks. |

Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 02 Apr 12 - 02:40 AM This is a traditional song celebrating the virtues of ignoring clodbusters in favor of those adventuresome fellows who go to Sea. Ladies, while they may have less time with you than their farmer counterparts, it's quality, not quantity that counts, right? Anyway, this one's dedicated to a true Mudcat Hero, Captain Kendall Morse(even though I am quite sure he'll frown on me banging the Martin D16R like a snare drum), and to all you other Blue Water Sailors... Hearts of Gold |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 03 Apr 12 - 06:54 PM Corvallis At a jam last week, someone did a song called "Last train from Poor Valley", which I misheard as "Last train from Corvallis". Anyway, someone said "that actually sounds like a good song title". That night, I went home and wrote this one. |

Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 20 May 12 - 10:51 PM The Murder at Westmill Try that one. I went back and re-mixed because the vocal was way too high in the mix. The story is the thing in this one, and it's difficult to get a vocal that is understandable enough without overpowering the instruments. This mix is more suitable. Sorry about the switch. |

Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 22 May 12 - 04:50 PM I traveled to Greece in the Spring of 2011, and saw Delphi, the most sacred of spots in ancient times. Here lies the sacred spring of Castalia, and the Temples of Apollo and Athena. It was customary for those seeking fame, fortune, or any knowledge of what the future held, to call upon the Oracle, a priestess who sat within the temple above a chasm in the rocks, inhaling the vapors that came from within the Earth which induced the gift of prophecy. The prophecies were rarely straight forward. An ancient king was told that if he were to invade an adjoining country he would witness the fall of a great kingdom, which turned out to be his own. The Greeks were believers in predestination, and felt that each man's life was a tapestry being woven by the three spirits they called The Fates. At any time, they might cut the strands of thread from which this life was woven. These legends and the eerie beauty of Delphi gave inspiration for this admittedly strange song... The Oracle |

Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 12 Nov 12 - 01:12 AM A tribute I wrote to the tall ship Bounty, lost off of North Carolina in the Great storm of 2012, and to her crew... Bounty Sail Away |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: gnu Date: 12 Nov 12 - 02:05 PM Beautiful ship... and song. |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 12 Nov 12 - 02:25 PM Yes, a sad day when she went down, and tragic for the crew and loved ones of those lost at sea. The question of why she was there, and who was at fault for putting her in harm's way, is under investigation. Whatever the results, the Bounty should be remembered. She was a glorious sight in full sail. I chose not to include the last pictures of her as she sank. |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 14 Nov 12 - 01:55 AM In October, I took a trip with my daughter down to New Orleans, and then up through the Mississippi Delta. I used some photos that she took, among others, for the slide show that accompanies this song. The numbers refer to the two highways that meet at the famous crossroads near Clarksdale Mississippi 49 and 61 |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: gnu Date: 14 Nov 12 - 03:42 PM Another good one! You should do another Bounty and include the sinking... ya might have ta tweak the song a touch to match but I think, "What the hey? Why not?" |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: Lonesome EJ Date: 14 Nov 12 - 05:54 PM Well, the song has a kind of optimistic tone, despite the ship's fate, and the words "Bouty Sail away" seem to jar with the image of the ship capsizing. But that IS what happened, so let me give it some thought. |
Subject: RE: Lonesome EJ New Youtube Videos From: gnu Date: 15 Nov 12 - 05:08 PM I understand... might even need a whole new song? |
