Subject: TECH Roxio on PC ?? From: MikeL2 Date: 16 Mar 11 - 07:50 AM hi I have just bought a copy of Roxio Toast 10 Titanium. Having got home I read inside the box ( the bit you can read without actually opening the product)that it is compatible with Mac computers. I have googled it and there are some references to PC but it is not very clear whether this product is really suitable for PC use. Does anyone know if Toast is suitable for both Mac and PC or for Mac only. I can change it if I return it quickly and unopened. Thanks in advance Cheers MikeL2 |

Subject: RE: TECH Roxio on PC ?? From: Arkie Date: 16 Mar 11 - 12:43 PM Roxio makes PC friendly software but I have only heard "Toast" used in connection with Apple. Someone at the store where you purchased the software should know if this software was intended for use on a Mac. |
Subject: RE: TECH Roxio on PC ?? From: Joe Offer Date: 16 Mar 11 - 02:19 PM Hi, Mike- If you look at the "system requirements" on the link that Nick provided, you'll see that the software requires a Mac computer with an Intel microprocessor. I know that Roxio is a trusted name, but I've occasionally had trouble with Roxio software creating errors when I try to burn CDs. I find that Nero Burn Lite (free) does most of the CD/DVD burning I need to do, that isn't done by Windows Explorer. What do you want to do with the software? -Joe- |
Subject: RE: TECH Roxio on PC ?? From: MikeL2 Date: 16 Mar 11 - 03:35 PM hi joe I now realise that the system requirements make it pretty clear that the software is to be used in conjuction with Macs. I was looking at the software to capture vid clips and music from other media and to copy and burn CDs And DVDs and Blu Ray. Also I want to use an external burner. I used to use Nero for some of this but I now have Windows 7 and can't run that version on it. Looks like I will have to take the purchase back and get myself something more suitable. It is no big deal the store is not far and within walking distance if I am feeling really energetic. I didn't open the package because some outlets refuse to take back opened software purchases. Thanks for your free Nero tip. I will look at it straight away. Thanks as alwaYS MikeL2 |
