You can play or download this song at The Internet Archive. It's song #7 on that page. Here's my transcription:

HE FORGOT TO COME BACK
Words and music by Will E. Haines, Jimmy Harper, and Maurice Beresford
As sung by Gracie Fields, 1932

I was young and healthy until love came
And played that old game on me.
I was gay and wealthy; then the squire came,
And now the whole world blames me.
Why should this love such sorrow bring?
O Death, O Death, where is thy sting?

He spoke to me about a wedding ring,
Ordered the parson and the choir to sing.
He remembered almost every little thing,
Then he forgot to come back.
He planned to build a cosy little nest.
We both agreed to have a little guest,
And a man called Dredge(?) said he would do the rest,
But he forgot to come back.

Hennery, Hennery, can't you hear your baby calling you?
Hennery, Hennery, write to me and tell me what to do.

He used to call me little sugar plum,
Kissed me and hugged me until I was numb.
My consolation now is only chewing chewing-gum
'Cause he's forgot to come back.

Something should be done protecting females
From being preyed on by men.
Why should we be playthings for these he-males?
Once more the woman pays again.

Why should I suffer like I do?
I'm human just like you and you. (MALE CHORUS: Oh, yeah?)
One night he took me wand'ring in the fog.
We stopped to have one in the Bull and Frog.
Then he went outside to see a man about a dog,
And then forgot to come back.
Once by the duck pond he said, "Try your luck.
Come for a swim. You'll float just like a duck."
Then he crept behind and pushed me in the muck,
And then forgot to come back.

Hennery, Hennery, can't you hear your baby calling you?
Hennery, Hennery, write to me and tell me what to do!

He said he'd love me, love me till he died,
Swore he would never, never leave me side.
P'rhaps the poor lad's dead, or else they've got him safe inside,
'Cause he's forgot to come back.

The name of the man in the second verse is "Drage". They were a large and well known House Furnishers in the late twenties and early thirties.
