Subject: Adieu Crispin and Crispianus?
From: Richard Bridge
Date: 26 Mar 11 - 06:01 PM

Those who remember the folk sing/sessions at the Crispin and Crispianus on Strood Hill in Strood, Kent once hosted by Paul Hurst, John Barden, Jacqui and me will be saddened to learn that as I drove past tonight the 13th century (sic) pub appeared to be well alight, with the pall of smoke reducing visibility up Strood Hill to almost zero. A sad fiery end to another, I think the third, but it might be more) old, unprofitable, and closed pub in Strood. Can it simply be coincidence?

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers
