Here is a sneak preview of a few of the songs and tunes which will be appearing on the new Mudcat CDs.(maybe also the Seasonal CD)

They are just samples really to give you guys a bit of an idea of what you'll be getting.
Course, I'm holding back the real good stuff until the CD launch!!!! (What CD launch, I hear you ask? ---more about that later!)

I'll try and put a few more on in due course and you can self refer if you know your song is going to be on the set.(check with me please before posting)

Do please let me know if this is a good idea and that you are MORE likely to buy the CDs (to support Mudcat, remember?)

Hi,

Judging by the reactions to the first set, most buyers had made their mind up beforehand that they were going to buy the CDs. I'm not sure whether advertising techniques will add to that. I do know it's always possible to reduce the number of potential buyers, though, so I'd be careful with this kind of thing.

In this particular case: Virginia Tam - Past Carin' is a video to stand on its own. It's too strong a statement, in my opinion, to work as an appetiser for a CD set.


OK, reading back my message, it seems that my answer to your question is: "No." Though I always like to find out about the performance of other Mudcatters, I don't think this approach will sell more CDs or make buying the set more likely for me. But YMMV.

The audio for the video was recorded separately with good mics (just out of the frame) and recombined with the video, so the same audio recording is the one going on the Mudcat CD - there didn't seem much point in making another.
