A friend of mine in New Zealand was once on the receiving end of an Auussie loudmouth bragging about much bigger everything was over there on the West Island. He managed to reduce the guy to nonplussed silence by saying "We've got bigger dwarfs".

In many parts of the world, and particularly in Australia, there has been a fascination with the BIG THINGS of the area. Generally built to promote tourism or businesses, these have become iconic, in the true sense of the word.

There were two Big Pineapples in Queensland at one time.
