35 years ago today, April 9th 1976, Phil took his own life.
Many of his songs are as relevant today as they were when he wrote them. Here is one illustration of how enduring his influence has been.

Phil Ochs was the best topical singer/songwriter of his generation bar none. As Rog says many of his songs are as relevant today as when he wrote them and those that aren't still stand out as excellent pieces work in the folk tradition. This cannot be said of many of his contemporaries. A truely tragic end to the life of a great folk poet; sadly missed.

Thanks for the reminder. I am one of his many fans; he had/has a big influence on me. Doug
