Subject: Folklore: Songs Available on 'The Net' From: saulgoldie Date: 11 Apr 11 - 09:25 PM I am in "Hog Heaven!" I just discovered through some recent posts here on Mudcat that there is a huge amount of folk music posted on, among other places, Youtube. I just hear one song, and on the sidebar there are links to so many other songs of interest. I see older clips, from "back in the day" and newer takes on some songs. I could spend hours, nay, DAYS just listening and following links! Am I like the last person on Earth to discover this? Saul |
Subject: RE: Folk songs Available on YouTube From: Genie Date: 12 Apr 11 - 01:12 AM Probably not, Saul. But I think a lot of folkies have already discovered that. Sometimes I think people who actually know YouTube has music of all sorts don't think to look there when trying to find, say, the tune to a song that they have the lyrics for. And YouTube's library of music grows rapidly, so it's good to check back every once in a while if you don't find what you're looking for. Of course, you'll probably find all sorts of treasures that you WEREN'T looking for too. |
