Subject: RE: Lucy Ward - comments on her as a performer? From: GUEST,Alan Whittle Date: 21 Apr 11 - 08:07 PM I can tell you that the people at the Vernon folk club (where I think I maybe first saw her) in Spondon Dertby are very proud of Lucy and all that she's achieving. We also love the fact that she seems to be hacking it in the world of the folkerati - although many of us feel, she's actually far too good for them. |

Subject: RE: Lucy Ward - comments on her as a performer? From: Snuffy Date: 21 Apr 11 - 05:33 PM A lovely lass who can put over a tremendously varied range of songs, both trad and self-penned. Have a look on Youtube - I particularly like Stitch in Time, Fairy Boy and Band Played Waltzing Matilda. V |
Subject: RE: Lucy Ward - comments on her as a performer? From: GUEST Date: 21 Apr 11 - 02:13 PM Go and see her if you can. She has written some good stuff. The first time I saw her she had blue hair. She's one to watch and headed for great things I think. Moses |
Subject: RE: Lucy Ward From: theleveller Date: 21 Apr 11 - 10:45 AM She does lots of traditional songs, also some more contemporary stuff and self-penned songs (she's a superb songwriter). |
Subject: RE: Lucy Ward From: GUEST,Martin Date: 21 Apr 11 - 10:13 AM Cheers, does she do mainly traditional stuff? |
Subject: RE: Lucy Ward From: theleveller Date: 21 Apr 11 - 10:01 AM Yes, several times. Lucy is a brilliant performer as well as a great singer. If you get the chance to go and see her live don't miss it, you'll be in for a real treat. (And have a chat to her mum and dad - they're lovely people as well.) |
Subject: Lucy Ward From: GUEST,Martin Date: 21 Apr 11 - 09:03 AM Fairly new to folk, new to Mudcat, colleague said it was a good place to start. Did anyone hear the Mike Harding show last night? He played a track from Lucy Ward and said really nice things about her album. I'm going to be working in York for a few weeks and noticed on her website she was playing up there. Has anybody seen her perform? |
