Subject: RE: Review: Pokey LaFarge From: GUEST,Jayto Date: 27 Apr 11 - 10:11 AM A few of my friends played on his newest CD with him. He plays around this area (Western Kentucky) fairly often. He is a great writer, musician, and performer. If you can make it to see him at all you need to do it. I am really surprised you don't hear more about him. |

Subject: Review: Pokey LaFarge From: Desert Dancer Date: 26 Apr 11 - 01:56 PM This was loads of fun: Pokey LaFarge Tiny Desk Concert (at NPR). Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three (who don't get much commentary, but who are fine musicians in their own right, a tight group, and essential to the sound) will be at the Shetland Islands festival this coming weekend and in the Netherlands in early June, in addition to their continuous U.S. touring and upcoming Newport Folk Fest dates. It's the life of the young and unattached, I guess. ~ Becky in Long Beach |
