I used to love that that close harmony thing they did on Spanish Lady.

It's a little creepy that the article made no mention of the fact that Adrienne Johnston is deceased.

But this is indeed fantastic news, and I'm thinking of coming from New York for this event.

Loved that band. Booked them twice for my folk club's in Darlington, Co Durham - when it was the two sisters, Mick Moloney and Paul Brady - and then Bishop Auckland after the younger sister had left.

I have fond memories of my French wife trying to keep the door closed during a song - that was club policy - holding a wooden edge in order to do so (no idea what fire regs would have said about that) and Brady stopping to call out: Vive la revolution

The fee: £40 plus accommodation in folk club organiser's home from memory!

Mick Mononey did an interesting interview about his years in The Johnstons on Radio Eireann on Sunday night. Here is a transcript.

Unfortunatly I wont be able to make it to the reunion concert this week-end, but I wish them all the very best and I hope it is a very enjoyable occasion. I remember the Johnstons in the Embankment in Tallaght when they played there with support of James Keane on accordian and Joey Walsh on bodhran. There were some wonderful Irish music sessions then.
