**Relaumch abandoned**

Our traditional folk club bar is still unavailable, despite earlier assurances. It hasn't really worked in the public bar - despite 3 or 4 exceptional nights, so time to move on.

Thanks to Will. Valmai, Breezy, Stuart, Dave, Paul for messages.

Cellarfolk and Brighton Singers' Club continue as normal.

Come and see us at - *Cellarfolk* Tuesdays (Downstairs) at 'Round Georges', Sutherland Road BN2 2EQ. (Nearly 30 of us last Tuesday at Jon Heslop's lovely guest night;)

BSC, Wednesdays at 'The Pond', Gloucester Road, near Brighton station BN1 4AQ. Around 12-18 of us normally (singers and supporters) in the cozy lower bar area.

Ian

I passed "The Jolly" earier on the bus and there's a notice in the window which should explain why the pub is temporarily closed;
and why we've had to make the

**Relaunch Postponed a week**

We had a phone call this morning from the new Guv'nor. She's had to close the pub just for this weekend due to, I understand, a problem with a licence.

Apols to anyone who is reading this having been along tonight. We phoned everyone we thought likely to make it

So next Sunday * - come on down!

*certainly phone Renata if you're coming any distance to double check. Renata's no: 01273 383056

Hey Ian!

I had an email recently from a long lost German friend reminiscing, among other things, about the Stables sessions, whatever happened to you etc. and I was able to reassure him that you were indefatigably still in business.

Hope to see you soon.

Good luck with it, Ian. A very friendly and worthwhile approach. I'm away this Sunday and generally horribly short of time, but maybe I'll make it one day.

Yes the Henfield sessions are still going on - next one this coming Sunday. I've missed the Burgess Hill stuff so far - but I will get along one day!

Hello Will - yes we are still at the Round George's every tuesday. Cellarfolk is coming up for four years old now!

After a lull on booking guest, we have Jon Heslop on June 7th, and two more guest nights towards the end of July (Greg Harper, and Bluebirds (bluegrass duo).

Are you still having sessions in Henfield? Been along to Dan and Geoff's club in Burgess Hill yet?

Ian

Our sunday singaround / Song and Chat session moves back to the Saloon Bar of the Jolly Brewer (Tamplin's Ale House) from sunday 8th May,

This is possible courtesy of a new Landlady who had heard about the Folk Club before even she arrived.

Particularly welcome are concertina-accordion players, most of our regular singers are guitarists of unaccompnied performers. It would be nice to have a broad mix for the future.

The Jolly Brewer is on Ditchling Road, south of Fiveways (BN1 4EQ) and Ditchling Road, arguably, is the better route in and out of Brighton, so many will have pass the "Jolly" on visits to our city.

Lastly, our club ethos is always "friendly. informal and free". We like everyone to have a good time free of "anoraks and scowlers'., regaerdless of ability. Start around 9pm.

Ian Fyvie
