It was the folk scene at its finest - getting together to support one of their own by doing what they do best.

Huge thanks to the performers and techies - 11 acts including the morris dancers- and to the wonderful audience, some of whom had travelled a long way to attend. The Square Chapel staff were excellent too.

Pete Coe did a first class job in assembling it. The performers were professional to the extent that as floor manager, all I needed to do was stand around with a clip board and adjust the occasional mic stand. Everyone kept to time, the whole thing ran like clockwork, and the music was absolutely stunning in its breadth, energy and beauty.

Those in the Leeds area (and maybe on the internet) will be able to hear broadcast highlights selected from the recordings made by BBC Leeds. I'll try and provide a heads up on this in the future.

Absolutely fabulous concert last night, ALL the singers and musicians were on top form, I loved every minute of it.
